This is the official website of the free improvisation/dark ambient project and performance act Manica. Thank you for visiting our website and take a look around.

Manica started out in late 2008 as a solo project by Lennart Wiltens. He wanted to express oppressed emotions by making atmospheres with the album "Endless Aggression", a title by the now defunct label called "Ziekte records" in 2008/9. Lennart Wiltens called his music to be "depressive ambient". In 2012, he released a digital album out on Donkse Oog called Lamentation, wich was more a variation of several compiled songs. 
In 2013, he got in contact with Sandra Tenwolde wich completed the duty of studio vocals and started collaborrating together to give a vocal approach to the dark ambient genre. They started working on the now B-sides in wich they called the "Nachtnevel project". After these recordings, they found out not to be too satisfied with these results and decided to rework these tracks and asked Koenraad Makkelie if he could re-record e.g. rework these tracks. They decided to release 5 tracks with a certain dark sound, in wich every track represented the darkness of the night. As each track passed, the ominous tones get darker and darker until the night cloaked the earth and thus, 4 to 6 years passed and they finally released the title "Niht - Hrimfax - Nótt" it had many collaborators wich included on track 3 until 5 a new sound designer and mixer Adrian Newgent.
